Following a micro-residency in Rimouski, I composed the performance Frou-frou noir. I was interested in the sound environment of the city (traffic, nature, conversation, music…) in connection with the disappearance of my image, lit only by a small lantern. The previously recorded sounds were broadcast live, mixing with the surrounding sounds as I moved extremely slowly and gently through a small clearing in Parc Lesage. Eventually, I melted into the woods. This performance is something new for me, an essay on the place I wanted to leave to the scenography that surrounded and overwhelmed me and to the sounds that shaped me.

À la suite d’une micro-résidence à Rimouski, j’ai composé la performance Frou-frou noir. Je me suis intéressée à l’environnement sonore de la ville (circulation, nature, conversation, musique…) en lien avec la disparition de mon image, éclairée seulement d’une petite lanterne. Les sons enregistrés précédemment étaient diffusés en direct, se mêlant aux sons environnants pendant que j’avançais avec une extrême lenteur et douceur dans une petite clairière du Parc Lesage. Finalement, je me fondais dans les bois. Cette performance est pour moi quelque chose de nouveau, un essai sur la place que j’ai voulu laisser à la scénographie qui m’entourait et me submergeait ainsi qu’aux sons qui me modelaient.
